Meet the Team

Trudy Brereton
Prevention Coordinator
Wasatch Behavioral Health
With over 30 years in public health and substance use prevention I’m passionate about helping our community thrive. I coordinate local coalitions, work closely with partners to track youth trends in substance use and mental health, and teach classes that support and strengthen families. My favorite adventure is riding my horse in the beautiful mountains that surround us.

Sarah Simons
Health Promotion Division Director
Wasatch County Health Department
I have worked in Public Health since 2005. In my role I oversee our division’s role in improving the health and wellbeing of our community. I participate in our community drug prevention coalitions and facilitate evidence based classes. During the winter I love to go snowshoeing and during the summer you will find me on my paddle board or in my kayak gliding through our amazing lakes and reservoirs.

Audra Rhodes
Prevention Specialist
Wasatch Behavioral Health
As a Prevention Specialist at Wasatch Behavioral Health, I am passionate about helping young people thrive. My expertise has allowed me to lead youth clubs that are focused on educating students about the dangers of substance use, mental health, and digital literacy. I also facilitate suicide prevention courses and support families through relationship-building programs. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and cherish any time that I get to spend with my family.

Kathryn North
Health Educator
Wasatch County Health Department
I’ve been with the Wasatch County Health Department since 2020, and I love the work I do. As a Health Educator and co-chair of the Caring Community Coalition, I’m passionate about helping youth make healthy, confident choices. I support local Youth Prevention Clubs and work with community partners to promote substance-free living, leadership, and connection. I believe prevention starts at home—with strong relationships and healthy habits. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family.

Abby Bocanegra
Prevention Provider
Wasatch Behavioral Health
Since the fall of 2023, I have enjoyed working with youths of all ages, from elementary to high school. I earned a Bachelor's of Professional Studies from BYU-Idaho, including certificates in Child and Family Advocacy, and Human Services. I have utilized my skills to teach family classes, youth school clubs, and adult education. I am passionate about promoting wellness in the community. Wellness in individuals creates wellness in families, and wellness in families makes for strong communities. We have appreciated raising our six children in the beautiful Heber Valley.

Kristin Anderson
Health Educator
Wasatch County Health Department
I’ve been with the Wasatch County Health Department since 2020, working in the Violence and Injury Prevention Program and serving as the Safe Kids Coordinator. I also am a co-chair for the Wasatch County Wellness Committee. I visit our schools, teach local classes, and organize various events that focus on injury prevention, opioid misuse, and mental health. One of my favorite roles is teaching QPR, a suicide prevention class. When I'm not working you can often find me at the lake or playing pickle-ball.

Lana North
Communications/Health Educator
Wasatch County Health Department
A big part of my job is helping people understand important health topics—like the risks of opioids and how to stay safe.
I create and share information through websites, social media, flyers, presentations, and community events. I am passionate about connecting people to the resources they need and making sure our community feels supported and informed. In my free-time you will catch me playing sports, biking, and enjoying local nature with my husband, family, and friends.
